Born in Canada and raised in the West of Ireland, Jenny Fox is an award-winning visual artist. Upon graduating from NCAD she has accumulated numerous exhibitions and residencies, in Ireland, Italy, the USA and a touring gallery across Asia. Her awards include the Arts Council Agility Award and the Tipperary Artist Award. Fox’s abstract paintings explore the nature of memory. She captures their essence through her rejection of definitive form and the process by which she paints; layering paint and plaster, then sanding this back down again, she relays the phases of erasure as time effects memories. Jenny Fox is continually developing as an artist, working on everything from her characteristic abstract paintings to three-dimensional multi-media upholstery projects. The artist currently works and lives in Tipperary, Ireland. Her work invites viewers to reimagine the canvas as a site of exploration and connect with their own memories.
