Siobhan O'Callaghan

Bio

Siobhán O’Callaghan is a brilliant young visual artist who is bringing the figurative form back to centre. O’Callaghan’s paintings respond to the figurative tradition. She confronts the figurative form. In essence O’Callaghan paintings explore the connection in various forms – shared experiences, intimacy, how we relate to our environment – often depicting people. Arising out of her studio residency at the RHA/IPUT Wilton Park Studios (2023), her most recent work examines the filter of the gaze; exploring how it can be treated through abstraction. The result is that the work has enormous energy. Challenging the viewer to debate the form. She will be showcasing again in the RHA Annual Exhibition 2023.
