Hilary Evans is an Irish artist; raised in Oughterard on the scenic shores of Lough Corrib, she spent her summers immersed in the picturesque landscapes of Ballyconnelly, Connemara. Here, she developed a deep-rooted appreciation of the beauty of the natural world. Her artistic vision is profoundly influenced by the tapestry of colours found in the West of Ireland's seasonal panoramas. Evans developed her technical skills under the tutelage of the Wicklow-based artist Nicky Kruseman. Under this mentorship she honed her painting techniques, specialising in abstract landscapes and representations of Irish scenery using acrylics and oils. Throughout her paintings, Evans nurtures her fondness for the palette knife, which facilitates the bold strokes and striking layering that has become distinctive of her style. Garnering recognition for her prowess, she has been commissioned for numerous large-scale abstract paintings, both domestic and commercial.
