Bio

Hilary is an Irish artist who was raised in Oughterard on the shores of Lough Corrib and spent her summers in Ballyconnelly in Connemara, where she developed her lifelong love for the beauty of the West of Ireland. She is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and holds a Diploma in Interior Design from Griffith College. She developed her painting techniques under the tutelage of the Wicklow based artist Nicky Kruseman. Hilary paints on canvas in acrylics and oils and her preferred style is abstract. Her use of colour is inspired by the ever-changing panoramas of the West of Ireland through the seasons. She has received numerous commissions for her large abstract paintings, both domestic and commercial. Artists she has been inspired by include Nicky Kruseman, Darina Roche Kiang, Michael Gemmell and Mary Horan.
