Bio

Allan Madsen is an internationally renowned artist who has had exhibitions in many countries worldwide including USA, Canada, Spain, Ireland and Sweden. Madsen most recent works explores the Japanese concept of Ma. He offers an artistic interpretation of emptiness that focuses on the intention of negative space within an artwork and its value to the motifs it surrounds. His practice is anchored in sublime command in draughtsmanship rooted in classical tradition and inspired by the Dutch Masters, Vermeer, and Rembrandt. His extraordinary sense of colour combined with this Japanese's conception of space offers the viewer a section of contemplative time and space if the viewer takes the time to stop and look at it.
