Bio

Mark Cullen is an Irish artist, born in Dublin in 1960, who only started painting on a full-time basis in 2003. He has successfully exhibited his paintings in numerous exhibitions throughout Ireland, most notably at the RHA annual exhibition and VUE in Dublin, the Eigse exhibition in Carlow and RUA annual exhibition in Belfast. His distinctive paintings of scenes in and around the harbours of South County Dublin, depicted in a bold, strongly contrasting palette have won him a considerable following. As a painter Mark is currently exploring the use of the technique of impasto to its limits in abstract paintings creating three dimensional like tapestries that tease the viewer to engage in their form. Other works as below depict scenes along the Dublin coastline close to his studio.
