Wilton Gallery is pleased to announce 'Stillben med Bloomer' by Irish artist Nicholas Benedict Robinson. This is a series of six paintings through the Wilton Gallery.
'These floral studies were my exploration into painting nature at its most beautiful and wholly on its own terms' - Nicholas Benedict Robinson.
This collection of still life flower paintings presents a unique challenge to the painter. The colours and heads of blooms allow the painter to express composition structure, harmony, unity and other unique and beautiful qualities of nature while providing all the technical demands of any other subject or genre.
He graduated from the Crawford College of Art and Design and completed post-graduate studies at NCAD in 2009. He was subsequently introduced to the American atelier system by the Irish painter Gearóid Hayes. He has worked and studied at the Florence Academy of Art in Sweden under the tutelage of the Swedish painter Joakim Ericsson. He returned to Ireland in 2013.
As a painter he specialises in life drawing, which has a combination of his own work as well as commissions. Robinson regularly exhibits at the RUA and RHA annual exhibitions, as well internationally. Robinson paints in his studio in Wicklow and teaches in various institutions nationally.
