Nicholas Benedict Robinson is an Irish painter specialising in life drawing. As a post-graduate, he attended the Florence Academy of Art in Sweden under the tutelage of the Swedish painter Joakim Ericsson. Here he received two drawing awards before graduating. He has a BA from Crawford College of Art and Design and an MEd from the National College of Art and Design, Dublin. From his studio in county Wicklow, he captures the subtle tones of his subjects. In both his still life and portrait paintings he demonstrates a remarkable consideration to the formal elements of technical ability, such as the effect of light and space on form. Robinson is an award-winning artist who has displayed in the RUA and the RHA annual exhibitions, as well as in various group shows across Dublin’s galleries. Using his professional qualifications and his grasp on technique he teaches at various institutions nationally.
